On the Tube ♥ Lie with Me

The Carrie Diaries Episode 102 Lie with Me
The Nemesis
Let the cat fight begin.  Carrie's new relationship hit a round bump as the most popular girl in school set her sights on Carrie's beau.  Carrie also managed to lie (this week's theme) out of a tricky situation at work.  It was another great episode... AND fun fact.  Did you know Vanessa Hudgens is dating Carrie's love interest, actor Austin Butler?  Me either!  Are you watching The Carrie Diaries?  What do you think?

On the Tube ♥ Islands in the Stream

It that magical day of the week again... TUESDAY... Hart of Dixie Tuesdays!!! :)  This week was the awkward... I'm dating your ex, let's double date and keep running into each other episode.
George Tucker's mom decided that George and Zoe belong together... so she kidnapped them on the boat?  This gave them time to discuss why they weren't together.  Meanwhile, Lemon was determined to find out who her dad was dating.  Lemon found out and promised Shelby she was on her way out of Brick's life.
Oh, Lavon...

NW Travels ♥ Keith Sweats it Out

Warren, Holly and I took a little trip to see Keith Sweat at the Spirit Mountain Casino.  (Julie was supposed to come, but her man was really sick.)  It was a fabulous night and pure entertainment!  The concerts at Spirit Mountain also tend to have a great price point.  There are a lot of shows I would like to see, but by the time I find out about it... the tickets are already sold out.  So you have to keep an eye on upcoming shows and buy them quick!
The audience was as much fun to watch as the show!  We saw patchwork jeans from the 90s, sparkly leggings, belly shirts, dancing cowgirls and full length fur coats.  It was cray cray.  Warren had a brilliant quote, which I now cannot remember but trust me it was a hilarious night.  When Keith Sweat invited some people up on stage, things got so complicated that he was unable to perform his song (again hilarious).  He did an awesome job working the crowd.
Keith Sweat also plugged his new website True Love Meets.  Keith Sweat personally promised to screen the men... so single ladies, there you go!
And in case you need a refresher... watch Keith Sweat's Twisted!  If he comes back to town again, I'm so there.

On the Tube ♥ The Carrie Diaries

I have been super curious about CW's new show The Carrie Diaries which premiered last week.
I'm loving AnnaSophia Robb as Carrie Bradshaw... could they have found anyone more adorable with great curly hair?
And even though Carrie's mom just died, it's clear from the beginning this teenage drama is going to be about L-O-V-E.  Yeah, it's a little cheesy show about high school, but that can be a lot of fun.
It's fun to see the fashionista in the making!  And the start to Carrie's love for Manhattan.  It's definitely not Sex in the City but you can still get carried away with The Carrie Diaries.  Watch the first episode online. :)

NW Travels ♥ Smoking Mo's

If you ever happen to be in Shelton, Washington... you should definitely check out Smoking Mo's.  It's a delicious little BBQ spot in downtown Shelton, Washington.  I was visiting my friend and we went here for dinner.  It was so yummy!  And little Southern food is good for the soul. :)
I had a fried shrimp po' boy sandwich!  So good.  My side item was fried corn on the cob.  I just had to try it.  It was good, but a bit much... so rich.  But somethings you've gotta do at least once.

And in case you were wondering... they have amazing hushpuppies!

Furball Friday ♥

Happy Friday Dudes!!!

Make it Up ♥ Wet n Wild Mega Volume mascara

I was inspired to try this mascara after I read a great review about it.  It’s a very impressive little $2.99 mascara.  I’m gonna be honest, I think a lot of times you get what you pay for.  This is completely untrue with the amazing little mascara.  This mascara performs as well mascaras in a much higher price bracket.  It is a super dark black mascara in a volume enhancing formula.  It does not clump!  You can coat on a lot of layers without getting clumpy (wooooo).  It also comes off fairly easily.  This is important to me because I’ve loved mascaras that I cannot get to come off.  This becomes a major issue when you wear mascara everyday.  Now this mascara is not magic… I’m still looking for that mascara.  I really like super-sized huge lashes and this more of natural look.  But a good mascara for $3 bucks, who thought that was possible?  Also, I would not recommend this mascara for peeps with sensitive eyes.  I don’t have super sensitive eyes, but I have noticed it’s a little bothersome if it gets too close to your eyes.  But overall, this mascara is such a ridiculous bargain!  And don’t we all love a good deal? Stay pretty honeybees!

On the Tube ♥ Hart of Dixie

Hart of Dixie is back!  Yay.  I so missed it.
It was Pioneer Day in Blue Bell.  This was the backdrop for Zoe and Wade's relationship issues.  Zoe tries to bury her issues with projects which leads to, of course, a hilarious "explosion" at the main event.  Meanwhile, Lemon and AnnaBeth get Lavon to let them cater the feast.  And George helps Brick break up with Shelly, only to turn around and encourage Brick to be with Shelly if that's what makes him happy.

On the Tube ♥ The Bachelor

It's Bachelor Season 17... let the drama begin!
This week the group date was a photo shoot for Harlequin romance novel covers.
And who won?  The model!  (I think this is a good thing.  You wouldn't be a very good model if you couldn't win the modeling competition, right?)
It was interesting to find out a little bit more about why Kacie came back on The Bachelor and it was specifically because it was Sean.  Apparently, they had met and were friends, but Kacie had a crush on him.  It's nice to see a familiar face on The Bachelor and I think she seems a lot more interesting this season.  One of my friends is doing a Fantasy Bachelor League and I would have picked her as one of my team if I knew she was going to be on the show! :)

On the Tube ♥ Revenge is so sweet

It's sabotage week on Revenge.  I absolutely loved this week's episode of Revenge.  Revenge is definitely one of my favorite shows.  It's right up there with Hart of Dixie, which will be back on Tuesday.  (YAY)
Emily and Daniel's relationship continued to move forward.  Daniel pursued Emily.  Emily continued to play Daniel, much to Aiden's dismay.  I'm going to be really curious to see if Emily still has any feelings for Daniel or if it's just all about the revenge.  I liked Emily and Daniel before Daniel turned into his father.  And I'm not really a fan of the Emily/Aiden thing.  So I can't wait to see what develops!
Jack got out of jail after Conrad Grayson pulled some strings.  And there was a bit of a scuffle with a lady from the initiative at the wine auction that Emily put on... where did I mention Daniel purchased a $1 million dollar bottle of wine?  You gotta do, what you gotta do to impress the lady.
And Ashley is back.  She secured her job back with Conrad Grayson through blackmail.  Is there any other way to land a job? :) AHHH, the drama on Revenge.  Love it.  Happy almost Monday.

Your Face ♥ Neutrogena Healthy Skin Compact Makeup & Shine Control Powder

I like to use compact makeup.  I’m not a fan of liquid foundation because it’s too messy for me.  I find that it gets all over the place and tiny dots end up on my shirt.  I’m not a fan of ruined clothing so compact makeup it is!  I really wanted to try Neutrogena’s new Shine Control Powder and the store was having a buy one, get one half off so I also decided to try Neutrogena’s Healthy Skin Compact Makeup.  I’m actually super happy with the Healthy Skin Compact Makeup because it’s a great alternative to the MAC foundation I normally use.  The coverage isn’t quite as good as the MAC foundation, but it’s a lot cheaper and would be a great option for everyday use.  Neutrogena’s Healthy Skin Compact Makeup retails for $13.99 at the store where I shopped.  This means paying full price you can get two for less than a single MAC Studio Tech foundation which retails for $30.  And if you get the Neutrogena makeup on sale you can get it for even less.  I purchased the Neutrogena Healthy Skin Compact Makeup in Nude, it was slightly lighter than my MAC Studio Tech foundation in NC30, but it’s a great match for me.  I can’t even tell you how excited I was about this… I find it ridiculously hard to match foundation at drug stores.  I have wasted so much money trying to find a drug store match that I had pretty given up on it.  So I’m happy to have a less expensive, but decent alternative to my MAC foundation.  The Neutrogena Healthy Skin Compact Makeup also has SPF 55.  This is a positive and a negative.  I think it makes the consistency of the make up a bit oiler than I would like, but you are getting extra sun protection which is good.  I also think it won’t photograph as well.  I know from past experience that sun screen makes you look all washed out in photos.
♥♥♥♥= love isn’t perfect, but this practically is

I was also pretty impressed with the Neutrogena Shine Control Powder.  It definitely absorbs oil and cuts back on your shine.  It is NOT however invisible… you do have to blend it in.  I’m a little tan because of my Navajo heritage and the powder looks white on me.  It is definitely shine busting though!  And I really like the black packaging.  It’s a good looking powder.
♥♥♥= pretty fabulous

Furball Friday ♥ A little late...

So it's a little late, but how cute is this little guy?
I'm planning to get my nails done which will be fabulous, hopefully get some new items posted on my etsy store and try out a new burger joint.  I also ordered business cards for my blog last night... right before my coupon expired. :) Woooo

At the Cinema ♥ Les Miserables

I finally saw Les Miserables.  This movie is AMAZING.  I loved it.  I knew it was going to be good, but I didn’t know it was going to be great.  I think I must be one of the only people who has never seen the old movie, never seen the musical, etc.  I didn’t even know the storyline, which might have made the movie even better.  I think the actors did an excellent job especially Anne Hathaway and Hugh Jackman.
I also really loved one of the main songs in the middle of the movie in the rain by newcomer Samantha Barks.  I was a little disturbed by how tiny her waist was in the movie though.  It was just so small I couldn’t believe it.  I think she was one of the actors they cast for her vocal prowess instead of her acting repertoire and she did an awesome job.

NW Travels ♥ Quinault Rain Forest

I have always wanted to visit a rain forest and I finally accomplished my goal.  How is that for starting out 2013, right?  We have a rain forest in the Pacific Northwest and it's just 3.5 hours North of Portland, Oregon.  The Quinault Rain Forest is part of the Olympic National Forest in Washington.  The forest receives an average of 12 feet of rain per year.  It might not be exactly what I imagined when I planned to journey to the "rainforest" but it is quite beautiful!  So green and lush.  And even better it's a great weekend trip.  You don't even have to use up your precious vacation time.  Save that for a big trip!

We also went to lunch at a fabulous lodge.  I had some yummy rainforest fish and chips!  They were delicious and I loved that fact that it had rainforest in the name. :)

Lake Quinault Lodge
345 South Shore Road, Quinault, WA 98575

It is also home to the largest Sitka Spruce.  It is also claims to be the area with the greatest number of record breaking giant trees in the smallest area of the world.
I was visiting my longtime friend and her husband.  They have an adorable house that stays toasty warm due to an awesome fire place.  They live in Fawn Lake... appropriately named... check out this deer!
