Help me make it through the night - Hart of Dixie

Who doesn't love a Halloween-themed episode of a favorite TV show?  Add in some costumes, Rachel Bilson, cute boys and Southern charm and we have Hart of Dixie - Halloween style!  I absolutely loved Zoe's Cleopatra costume.  I think we should all channel a little Cleopatra in our daily lives.  It's all about the eyes ladies!  So don't forget your modern day kohl, i.e. eyeliner.  The darker, the better.  Oh, and this news producer that Lemon hooked up with?  GORGEOUS.  I wonder if he'll be around for a few episodes or not?  I guess we'll find out next week!

Well I hope you had a super fun Halloween.  And if you want to catch up on the latest episode of Hart of Dixie, you can watch here.  XOXO honeybees.

Happy Halloween Honeybees!

Happy Halloween 2013!  That should be an especially spooky year, right? :)

My favorite things about Halloween
1. CHOCOLATE
2. Dressing up (I really appreciate a Halloween wig)
3. Halloween fake eye lashes (stock up people, they only come around once a year)

Warren's favorite things about Halloween
1. Halloween Peeps!
2. Pumpkins (I like to look at them, I hate carving them)
3. My birthday is the very next day!

Linda's favorite things about Halloween
1. Little kids' costumes
2. Pumpkin flavored everything
3. That much closer to Thanksgiving
So what are your favorite things about Halloween honeybees?

Here's a peek at my super simple Halloween costume, a little monster!  I just purchased the furry purple monster kit - headband and fuzzy fingerless gloves included.  I already had the blue wig.  Add some Halloween fake eyelashes and presto - Halloween costume.

It's Halloween Week on DATD

What to Pack for Vegas

As I prepare for Warren's amazing Vegas Birthday trip, I face the question of what to pack for Vegas.  Holly, Warren and I will be jetting off to Vegas this Friday.  We'll be seeing Shania Twain, a hypnotist and who knows who else in Sin City.

But first things first, what to pack on a Vegas trip.

Step One.  Check the weather.  This is essential for including the right items in the luggage.  Currently, the forecast is high 70s to high 40s.  Quite a range, so we'll be sure to pack layers!

Step Two.  Consider events.  I'm thinking my new leopard dress for Shania Twain.  This just seems obvious.  Shania.  Leopard.  Perfection.  The hypnotist show is a bit more of a toss-up.  But I do have a black fringe top from Forever 21 that is waiting to make it's debut...

Step Three.  Consider comfort.  I will definitely be packing some comfort shoes for all that Vegas walking.  There is no need to wear heels all day ladies!  Think about those toes.  Oh, and don't forget a comfy outfit for the airplane.  But keep it cute, you never know who you might meet on the airplane.  (At least we can hope)

Step Four.  Accessorize.  Don't forget to pack coordinating goodies - earrings, rings, etc.

Step Five.  The day you leave, toss in the other essentials you can't pack until you are set to take off - toothpaste, face wash, etc.

OoO, I cannot wait for my Vegas trip.  I had a bit of disappointment this last weekend and a Vegas trip should be just the thing to cheer me up!  That and a bit of sun.

Take this job and shove it - Hart of Dixie

Zoe starts diagnosing everyone, especially her boyfriend Joel since she isn't working.  So they hatch a plan to get Zoe back to work.  Of course it's comical and doesn't go quite as planned in true Zoe fashion.  Meanwhile, Lavon's niece is after George Tucker (major time).  And George Tucker gets stuck (literally) and Zoe has to help him out.  Lemon rebelled and had to pay her dues to the Belles.  Lavon gets Brick's help to try to woo a baseball team to Bluebell instead of a neighboring town.  The lady making the call about the baseball team knew Brick in college and has quite the crush on the local doctor.  This episode packed in a lot of funny situations!  It's nice to take a break in Bluebell and see how Zoe is settling back into life in Bluebell.

It's FANDOM week on DATD! Check out my Mizchevous Mondays video below :)

Fandom Week on DATD!  Check out my video below:

The Plumper Pumpkin Patch

Sarah and Rosie work at The Plumper Pumpkin Patch, a super cute little farm near Hillsboro, OR.  This is a great place to bring the kids or the kids at heart.

The Plumper Pumpkin Patch
11453 NW Old Cornelius Pass Rd  Portland, OR 97231

You still have some time left before Halloween, if you're local and want to take a trip to the pumpkin patch.  They have animals, lots of activities for kids and kettle corn!  You have to pay a small fee to get in ($5).  And there are lots of photo-ops (as you can see above).

Only a few more days to Halloween honeybees... are you ready?

Gravy in PDX

Gravy time!

Warren and I love a good brunch spot.  The latest place we dined was Gravy in Portland, OR.  Come prepared to wait!  But I'm happy to report that it was worth the wait (about an hour).  There is a cute little Stash Tea shop across the street from the restaurant.  My recommendation?  Put your name on the list (you have to go into the restaurant and literally write your name on the list yourself) and then pop across the street for some tea and a place to hang out while you wait for your table.

Gravy
3957 N Mississippi Ave
Portland, OR 97227
7:30 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.

I had the Fried Chicken & Eggs with the house potatoes.  The fried chicken comes with veggie gravy.  I'm not even sure I've ever had veggie gravy before, but it was AMAZING.  The house potatoes were pretty good, although they did have a weird spice.  They do have egg whites as an option (I've always preferred egg whites), but I would pass on it next time because there was a couple of dollars up charge for egg whites.  Plus, I didn't even eat my expensive egg whites because the chicken was so delicious I could not stop eating it.  The breading was crispy and scrumptious and the chicken was high-quality and tender.  Take away?  Go for the gravy and carnivore items!

Have you ever been to Gravy?  What did you think?

Friends in Low Places - Hart of Dixie

Lemon + Wade, sitting in a tree, k-i-s-s-i-n-g

Yup, that's the face I made too!
What's better than a fake relationship between Lemon and Wade?  HAHA.  Not much.  It's pretty hilarious to see Lemon and Wade faking it.  And of course, it definitely gets under Zoe's skin, which Wade is only too happy to see.  (Since he loves Zoe, but there is the whole cheating on her thing last season, which I want to forget, but it's difficult to do completely.)  This makes things complicated when Lemon finally meets an eligible bachelor.  (You know the whole fake relationship with Wade thing?)
And we'll have to see if Zoe's new New Yorker boyfriend Joel can really made Bluebell home?  Oh, it's going to be an interesting season in Bluebell!

Who says you can't go home - Hart of Dixie

Hart of Dixie is back!  Oh, how its been missed.  Well, at least it's been missed by me.  And I wouldn't be surprised if you missed it too, if you're anything like me.  Over the summer, Dr. Hart headed back to NYC where she made a new life.  And she found a new beau.  Plagued by visions of the residents of Bluebell, Dr. Hart returns to Bluebell to say good-bye.  Zoe had decided to not return to Bluebell but rather stay in NYC and she informed the town folk via email (Oh, Zoe).  And so the fun begins.  Will Zoe really say a final good-bye to Bluebell?
It's also quite interesting seeing how the show hid Lemon's (well, Jamie King's) pregnancy.  And Lavon's cousin has moved to town and she's already stirring up trouble! (Cue one night stand with a local lawyer)

If you missed Hart of Dixie on Monday... (I really wish they would not have moved this show to Monday.  Mondays have so many good shows, The Bachelor/Bachelorette and now I'm loving Sleepy Hollow... I hate having to pick between my favorite shows)  Luckily, you can catch this first episode of this season online here.

Happy viewing honeybees!  What do you think is in store for this season of Hart of Dixie?  Do you think Zoe will really forgive Wade?  Do you think they should be back together?  Or what about this new guy?  Is the quirky, sweet nerd just what Zoe needs?

Tea & Sparkly Moustaches

Warren and I went to a delicious tea spot Stash Tea in Portland, OR.  I had the Smiling Buddha Green Chai.  It was amazing!  I would highly recommend it.  This place is mostly a tea shop, but it has a few tables where you can chat and enjoy a spot of tea.

Saturday: 10 AM - 8 PM

It was also the first time I wore my sparkly moustache sweatshirt from Forever 21.  Cute & comfy.  And it's still available online here.  If you want to pick up one for yourself.

I hope you are having a wonderful Monday honeybees! :)  Stay fabulous.

A little yogurt, blogging & fun... Oh, and happy almost FRIDAY

Hey, hey, hey.  It's almost FRIDAY honeybees.  Who's excited for the weekend?  (Me.)  No better way to kick off the almost TGIF then with a little meet up with some blogging buddies Rachel (how cool is her organizing book for her blog & life?) & Warren to discuss blogging over frozen yogurt.
I also finished up a black slouchy hat for the fabulous Miss Mills.  She's going to help me take some photos for my etsy shop this weekend.  Crossfingers for some OK weather, please.  I realize I need to make more black hats, particularly black slouchy hats because they are a common request.  But do you ever crochet or knit with black yarn?  It's wayyyy trickier because it's so dark!  It's kind of hard to see.  But if it's what the market demands... yeah, I need to make more black stuff.  I also finally redeemed my coupon for a yummy snack of Sargento Cheese!  I love the colby.  I even got a little insulated sleeve for a cheese stick.  Thanks influenster!

Tomorrow is PAYDAY, yippee.  I have a Vegas trip to pay for soon.  Woot. :)

Duct Tape Wallet Time

I have always wanted to make a duct tape wallet.  Cha-Cha-Cha.  Life goal?  Complete.
My friend Rachel introduced me to Collage.  A super cute little craft store with a bunch of classes.  And this was the latest one: making a simple duct tape wallet.  It even has a little ID card holder!

I wouldn't call myself a duct tape wallet making natural by any means.  It was kind of tricky.  (Duct tape is super sticky!)

Check out Collage's classes here if you're local and interested!  Or check out some You Tube videos on how to make a duct tape wallet.  All you need for this wallet is 2 rolls of duct tape, a cutting board, x-acto knife, acetate (clear plastic for ID pocket) and a bit of patience.

Stay crafty!  Have a great week honeybees.

Yo Zone is Yo Fun!

Who doesn't love Frozen Yogurt?  I'm sure there is someone out there... actually, I guess I know 1 person who is not a big fan of awesome yogurt shops where you get to make your own yogurt creation!  This can mean very pretty yogurt creations or something a little crazy!  Like this...

There is actually Strawberry Lemonade yogurt under all those other goodies.  And it is seriously delicious!

You can make your frozen yogurt creation as healthy (or unhealthy as you desire).  My Yo Zone fave is the PEANUT BUTTER topping.  Seriously amazing with the hot fudge and cheesecake pieces.

Yo Zone is a family business, actually fellow blogger Rachel's family.  If you're local and want to check it out sometime, here are the deets.  And let me know what you think!  Or better yet... let Rachel know. ;)
