Your Face

Double the lashes, double the fun ❤

I first came across the concept of double lashes at Ulta when I bought a pair of Eylure Naturalites Double Lashes.  The effect?  AMAZING.  If you love thick and dark lashes then double lashes are the way to go.

The drawback?  My Eylure Naturalites Double Lashes only lasted for one wear.  They just didn't hold up.  I'm used to being able to use a pair of lashes at least three times before you have to toss them.  When I took the Eylure Naturalites Double Lashes off they ripped apart and were done after a single wear.  They also were pretty stiff and uncomfortable (although, the effect was worth it).

DRUM ROLL please....

I just found Ardell Double Up lashes that utilize the same double lash concept.  I have used Ardell lashes a lot and anticipate this Double Up style will be my new favorite.  After my experience with the Eylure lashes, I just couldn't bring myself to buy another pair.  And now I don't have to!

Doll Face

A MAC makeover

I absolutely loved my makeup artist Austin.  He did the most fabulous job on my makeover.  I was wearing a red belt so instead of going with the traditional red lips he did this!  He used red liner and red eye shadow to create the pop of red color just above the crease.  Then he used silver and black to create the rest of the eye look.  The icing on the cake was the black cream eyeliner and super long lashes.  I have used this pair of lashes again and again and they are still holding up and looking fabulous.  For this reason, I would say there is a definite difference in the quality of lashes that MAC sells versus Ardell.  (Although, this makes since when you are paying $15 for pair of lashes versus $5... and sometimes you can even get Ardell lashes on sale.)  This was definitely my favorite MAC makeover to date.

Fabulous Flapper

This flapper hat is a fun crochet pattern.  You can add accents like feather brooches or crocheted roses.  You can also use a pretty button as the accent on the brim.  Get the pattern for Red Heart's Fashionable Flapper and get crocheting!  Pay attention to your gauge, a slightly different yarn can even make a big difference.

Hair Do

A bit of curl ❤

This is a super easy look when you want to do something different than straight hair.  I find that my curls fall out super quickly so use a bit of hair spray to keep some volume.  I'm always intimidated by curling my hair because it seems to take forever, but when you use a big curling iron and have short hair--it really doesn't take too much longer than straightening your hair.

❤Blow dry your hair completely
❤Make a side part in your hair
❤Use a one inch curling iron to create big curls all around your head
❤Secure a little bit of hair to the side with black bobby pins
❤Use hairspray to keep those curls from falling out!

Make It Up

Urban Decay Book of Shadows ❤

This look was created using Urban Decay's Book of Shadows.  I love the palettes from Urban Decay because you get a lot of great quality shadows to play with.  If you love colors and trying out different looks they are a great investment.

This is the original book of shadows by Urban Decay.  It is not currently available online, but Urban Decay is always releasing new eyeshadow sets with fabulous colors.  You can check them out in person at Ulta or Sephora.

A navy hat with white bow

This is a super easy navy blue hat created on a round loom (available at craft stores).  I used a chunky yarn which works best for hats on the round loom (unless you want to double your yarn).  This hat is made out of Loops & Thread Charisma yarn which is available at Michaels.  Then I created a simple white bow and sewed it onto the hat.  To make the bow, I crocheted a long rectangle then doubled the rectangle and wrapped yarn in the middle to create a bow shape.

The corset dress

We did a girls night out at Urban Fondue.  It gave me a chance to wear this lovely corset dress.  It's a strapless dress with a light pink panel in the front surrounded by black.  The detailing on the front is reminiscent of a corset which is my favorite feature.  The long black cardigan is super flattering and allowed me to a wear the spring dress at night.

Look To The Stars

Heejun Rocks
source: http://www.nydailynews.com

I don't care what the judges say!  I absolutely love Heejun.  He has the best attitude and personality and is absolutely adorable.  He ripped off his shirt to reveal this cute outfit where he layered a colorful tee over a red collared shirt and worked a black beanie.  LOVE it!

If the shoe fits...

A hat with felt rosettes

This is a super easy teal hat created on a round loom (available at craft stores).  I've found it creates a much nicer hat if you use a chunky yarn.  This hat is made out of Loops & Thread Charisma yarn which is available at Michaels.  Then I created three felt rosettes with black leaves and sewed them onto the hat.

Card making fun with transparency

❤Use a corner punch design on each corner of a card stock square

❤You need a design copied onto transparency paper

❤Use alcohol ink, available at craft stores, this is a quick drying ink to use on the transparency

❤Use a felt stamper

❤Put a few drops of the alcohol ink on the felt stamper

❤Stamp away and cover the entire design, it will dry in less than a minute so work quickly

❤Create a design using glitter glue

❤Use a little Scotch Quick-Dry Tacky Adhesive around the edge of the circle design

❤Press onto a piece of paper and let dry for a while under a book

❤While your transparency is drying, create a card with three layers of card stock cut into squares

❤Cut our your transparency design after it is dry and glue onto the front of the card.  Add a few crystal accents on the front of the card and PRESTO, you have a lovely Celtic looking card ready for St. Patty's day!  I made this card at my local Jo-Ann store at a card making class with the fabulous instructor Veronica.
