Make it Up ♥ Wet n Wild Mega Volume mascara

I was inspired to try this mascara after I read a great review about it.  It’s a very impressive little $2.99 mascara.  I’m gonna be honest, I think a lot of times you get what you pay for.  This is completely untrue with the amazing little mascara.  This mascara performs as well mascaras in a much higher price bracket.  It is a super dark black mascara in a volume enhancing formula.  It does not clump!  You can coat on a lot of layers without getting clumpy (wooooo).  It also comes off fairly easily.  This is important to me because I’ve loved mascaras that I cannot get to come off.  This becomes a major issue when you wear mascara everyday.  Now this mascara is not magic… I’m still looking for that mascara.  I really like super-sized huge lashes and this more of natural look.  But a good mascara for $3 bucks, who thought that was possible?  Also, I would not recommend this mascara for peeps with sensitive eyes.  I don’t have super sensitive eyes, but I have noticed it’s a little bothersome if it gets too close to your eyes.  But overall, this mascara is such a ridiculous bargain!  And don’t we all love a good deal? Stay pretty honeybees!

Make it Up ♥ Lauren Conrad's Cat Eyes

Lauren Conrad's Cat Eyes... or at least my attempt :)

I'm really not used to wearing so little eye make up!  It felt very natural to me with such a thin line of liquid eyeliner and no eyeliner on the bottom.  Lauren Conrad has a wonderful tutorial on her famous cat eyes in her Style book.  Basically, you draw a thin line of black eyeliner across you top lid and end exactly in the corner.  Then you draw a short line from the corner of your eye upwards (in line with the end of your eyebrow seemed to be a good marker for me).  Then you smooth the corner out with a small swoop stroke connecting the line by your lash line to the one you drew upwards.  I used Urban Decay's black liquid eyeliner which does work wonders better the one I tried from a drug store, but you pay for it.  $19 to be exact.  Do you do cat eyes?

Make it up ❤ Make up in 5 mins?

I'm pretty fast at putting on make-up (well, at least I can be... I can also take forever to do a full going out face).  This article gives you 6 steps to do your make up in under 5 minutes!  I feel like I need to try it out sometime and see if I can really do it.

1. Sheer foundation to even out
2. Concealer (bye bye dark circles)
3. Highlighter (I'm surprised they put this in a 5 minute make up article... I don't use highlighter on a daily basis, but it certainly has a good effect)
4. Liner (YES! This is a must)
5. Mascara
6. Blush (I think you could also go with bronzer)

Can you do your make up in under 5 minutes?

Your face ❤ Intensely Clinique

I love Clinique's newish intense quickliner.  I am a big fan of Clinique's regular quickliner too.  I find it's one of the few eyeliners that does not transfer.  (Basically, it doesn't end up on the upper part of my eye and it stays mostly where it's supposed to right by my lashes.)  I also like the twist up feature--no pencil sharpener needed here.  The last time I purchased eyeliner, I got the intense eyeliner in black in addition to my usual really black quickliner.  And it is even more AMAZING!  It glides on even easier than the original quickliner!  It's supposed to give you a more intense liquid liner look.  The liner actually has a little bit of sheen to it.  I can't wait to try out the other colors.

My rating?

Make It Up

If your thing is color ❤

A lipstick with 50% more pigment than traditional lipstick?  Sign me up.  This lipstick is by MAKE UP FOR EVER in shade 36.  I wasn't looking for this color, but when I saw it--I had to try it....and now it has a home in my purse.

This look is all about the pink lips!  I would describe it as Barbie pink.  It's bright, it's loud and it's a whole lotta color.  I did a black smokey eye so it could be all about the pink.  The formula of the lipstick is nice and creamy with a lot of pigment.  I wish it had a nicer flavor (it's okay, just not great).  Overall, a good lipstick!

Urban Decay Book of Shadows ❤

This look was created using Urban Decay's Book of Shadows.  I love the palettes from Urban Decay because you get a lot of great quality shadows to play with.  If you love colors and trying out different looks they are a great investment.

This is the original book of shadows by Urban Decay.  It is not currently available online, but Urban Decay is always releasing new eyeshadow sets with fabulous colors.  You can check them out in person at Ulta or Sephora.
